This session examines privacy interests of a child who is a victim of or witness to a crime. The session will include an overview of the discovery process in criminal cases and its applicability to frequently encountered statutory privileges and rules of confidentiality.  Panelists will discuss circumstances under which appointment of a guardian ad litem for a child in a criminal case may be necessary or appropriate. Panelists will also share their experience in this area and offer practical advice to prospective appointees.
