OCR D&N Trial Skills/Advocacy Boot Camp

Feb. 27-28, 2012

University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado

We are now accepting registration for the 2nd annual OCR D&N Trial Skills/Advocacy Boot Camp on Feb. 27-28th at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado!

This 2-day NITA type training will emphasize case strategy as well as hands on practice in the advocacy skills required in child welfare cases (including cross examination, qualifying and admitting reports from experts, hearsay, impeachment, etc).  See attached agenda for details.  There is no fee to attend.

As the program will be limited to approximately 40 attendees, we will accept attendees on a first come first serve basis.  If you are interested in attending, please reply to this email to .  If you are located close to Greeley, please consider attending this training, as we are hoping to travel to various parts of the State annually with this conference and will not be presenting this in the same region for a while.

Dependency and Neglect Conference: Who Am I?

What: Who are you as a GAL? What kind of GAL do you strive to be? And how do you get children and youth to where they want to be?  Join us at the OCR’s annual dependency and neglect conference for a time of introspection to identify what has shaped your view on your kids, advocacy, communication, risk, etc. In addition, each attendee will have the opportunity to take the Myers-Briggs Personality Test and gain insight into what the results mean and the tools for using this information to become a better GAL.
